The ancient Via della Dogana is part of the most famous Strada dei Cavalleggeri that
joined Livorno with Monte Argentario born to protect the territory from
dangers that came from the sea: pirates, Turkish pirates or smugglers
infested our seas since ancient times. The path develops on the stretch
coastal between Punt'Ala and Rocchette and runs along a high coastal ridge from which
you can admire views of incomparable beauty. The view
ranges from the Argentario to the promontory of Piombino, as well as the islands
of the Tuscan Archipelago. Stretches of Mediterranean scrub will be interspersed with
gariga and clearings more open. We will reach a small bay where we will dive
in the crystal clear waters of this stretch of sea.
