Morellino di Scansano is a DOCG that has taken root a few steps from the sea, on hills characterized by an acidic and alkaline soil, rich in marine sediments, now covered with vineyards.
And these vineyards, which enjoy ventilated and sunny exposures, offer exceptional wines, very intense, with a refined acidic charge. Sea and dry and windy climate allow the grapes to ripen perfectly, but to maintain great aromatic finesse, do not expect fruity bombs, in fact it is all played on flavor and freshness.
Morellino is not full-bodied and tannic like Brunello and Nobile, on the contrary it has a delicious pleasantness, this does not mean it is mild, because in any case its two years of cask is made. But if you are looking for a fragrant and refined red wine, you have found the right bottles to uncork. It is a full-bodied wine that goes perfectly with red meats and important first courses, such as a nice plate of Maremma tortelli with meat sauce or a nice stake buttera.
