In Capalbio there is a small oratory for most of the time closed to the public: the Oratory of Providence. The original construction consisted of a chapel built for the worship of a lost image of the Madonna. At the end of the eighteenth century a new oratory was built, leaving the chapel on a lower level.
This building contains a series of priceless frescoes, perhaps attributed to Pinturicchio or to one of his promising students. As you can see from the details in the photographs, the landscape represented as a background also includes a sixteenth-century representation of the countryside around Capalbio and the castle itself.
