Razza del Casalone is an elegant farm house with a swimming pool and a 2 hectare garden in the heart of Tuscan Maremma; its within the outskirts of town of Grosseto and 10 km from the seaside along the “Strada delle Collacchie”, a road leading to Marina di Grosseto. Razza del Casalone is an ideal starting point for tours and sightseeing. Throughout the years, Grosseto’s outskirts have moved closer to the eighteenth century farm house and the proximity to the town offers a good opportunity to admire the ancient “Mura Medicee” (Walls built by the Medici Family, within 1 km), the typical alleys of the historical centre and the morning market. A supermarket is located within 500 meters and the train station is 2,5 km away. Also within a short distance: Uccellina Natural Park (12 km), the ancient Etruscan ruins of Roselle (4 km), Siena (70 km), Saturnia’s thermal baths (55 km). The estate consists of a 500 m2 XVIII century building with five apartments (most without air conditioning) and also seven identical apartments (all with air conditioning) in what were once the stalls of the ancient Razza del Casalone horse breeding farm. On the ground floor, a large and comfortable arched hall of about 150 m2, with an original brick floor, a fireplace and reading corner is at our guest’s disposal and can seat groups for meals. The seven flowers apartments are all on the ground floor thus easily accessible by differently able people; this has brought the farm house to accommodate various “special needs” groups in the past years. The farmhouse is surrounded by a large garden with a pine and cypress wood. It’s lit at night and equipped with tables and chairs. The whole estate consists in 120 hectars of land surrounding the farm house (mainly cultivated for cereal production), and a Buffalo breeding farm 4km away (small group visits are available upon request). There is a swimming pool (7x15 m), open from May to September, a playground and a private parking area. Wifi is available in the garden and in most apartments; also at client’s disposal is a coin operated laundry room. Breakfast, half-board or full-board service is available upon request for groups on a 8-people minimum basis. We also offer the possibility of organising cooking courses and/or local product tastings on site or visiting local oil mills and wine cellars. Bicycles for rent available on request thanks to an agreement with a local shop a few km from the farmhouse, Tennis and soccer courts available on the other side of the road from the estate. Razza del Casalone offers accommodation for 26 people.
