The VI edition of Dune – Arts Landscapes Utopias begins on 30 and 31 August at 7.30pm at the Maremma Park with a guided canoe trip, a site-specific reading performance with live music and, finally, a short night walk.

“Madame Butterfly” is the title of the performance, taken from Long's novella, which inspired Puccini's famous opera of the same name.

On stage Sara Luigina Donzelli, narrator and Stefano Cocco Cantini on keyboard and sax, production by Accademia Mutamenti.

A drama of waiting and loneliness that takes place by the sea, where the Japanese icon from Puccini pines, hoping for the return of her American husband. The novel, however, has an ending that surprises those who know the conclusion of the work well.
