Manciano – Palio delle Botti – From Thursday 27 to Sunday 30 August 2026.

The competition pits the town’s six districts against one another: Borgo, Cassero, Fonti, Imposto, Mulinello and Monumento. Representatives from each district must carry a barrel filled with water along a route through the streets of the historic centre. The first to complete the course will win the Palio and enjoy the glory for a whole year. As well as the race itself, the spectacle is enhanced by the decorations on the barrels, for which a special prize is awarded.

The neighbourhood parade and the opening ceremony take place on Thursday evening. The ninth Women’s Palio is scheduled for Friday. The festivities get into full swing on Saturday at 9.00 pm with the Palio delle Botti. Sunday will be dedicated to the Mini Palio, the ‘La Botte della Fortuna’ prize draw and many other activities.
