The traditional Feast of St Michael returns to Santa Fiora with the hot-air balloon launch

On Saturday 3 October, in Santa Fiora, from 4.30 pm, the Feast of St Michael returns – a tradition that has stood the test of time and reflects the community’s connection with the chestnut festival. The event, promoted by the local council and organised in collaboration with the local tourist board, offers a programme designed to engage people of all ages, with a particular focus on families and children, whilst retaining the festival’s most distinctive and eagerly awaited moment: the traditional hot-air balloon launch.
The event is set to begin at 4.30 pm with the presentation of the illustrated children’s book *L’antica gemma* by Elisa Giovannini, followed by a workshop based on the book *Tra il dire e il fare*, led by Margherita Lorenzini and aimed at children aged 4 and over.

At 6.00 pm, it’s time for fun with face painting and games organised by TanitArt. From 8.00 pm, the festivities will continue with music from DJ Paolo and karaoke, leading the audience towards the evening’s grand finale: the hot-air balloon launch.
