From Friday 17th to Sunday 19th and from Thursday 23rd to Sunday 26th July in Monterotondo Marittimo (GR), at Pista dei Castagni, the Sheep and Pig Festival.

The festival menu offers the chance to sample typical specialities from the Maremma and, in particular, the Monterotondo area, centred on meat from the two animals to which the event is dedicated. Among the various delicacies on offer are sheep, wild boar or roe deer ragù served with Maremma-style tortelli, roast or boiled sheep, delicious sheep skewers and roast suckling pig. To further enrich the selection of dishes, we should also mention porchetta, chickpea soup and polenta, not to mention local wines, cured meats and cheeses.

The food stalls remain open every evening for dinner from 7.00 pm and on Sundays for lunch as well. This will be followed by musical performances and other entertainment.
