Two days of meetings, excursions, and monitoring for the large gathering dedicated to pink flamingos and biodiversity protection. Citizens, volunteers, experts, and local authorities are ready: next weekend, the Orbetello Lagoon will host the most important pink flamingo research and study gathering in Italy.

Orbetello: Everyone will be there at Feniday - Fausto Corsi Memorial, which will take place in Orbetello on December 7th and 8th: the main Italian environmental associations, volunteers and activists from the local chapter of Occhio in Oasi, Italian and international experts and citizens eager to have a memorable experience, all with the patronage of local institutions, the collaboration of the Pro Loco, of the Top Environment company and many local associations.

This will renew an event that is already becoming a tradition and which last year's edition saw over 8,500 flamingos give a unique spectacle, intent on feeding, “voicing”, flying or courting each other.

“A people without borders, from whom we should take an example.” - declares Fabio Cianchi, former director of the WWF Oases of Maremma and now President of the Occhio in Oasi association - “There will be flamingos arriving from Andalusia, others from the Camargue, still others from Turkey or Algeria, but also many from the Italian colonies.”
