It was 1 November 1973 when Fogar chose Castiglione della Pescaia as the port of departure for an extraordinary feat. With his sailing boat, he set off towards the unknown, returning to Castiglione della Pescaia on 7 December 1974, after 402 days of travel.
50 years after that historic feat, Castiglione della Pescaia remembers this great man.
