Following the success of its world premiere at the Zurich Film Festival and its Italian premiere at the Festival dei Popoli in Florence, the tour of “Tatti, Paese di Sognatori” is coming to Grosseto. On 19 May at 8.30 pm, the Cinema Aurelia Antica will host a screening of the documentary by Swiss director Ruedi Gerber, who has now made the Maremma his home.

THE JOY OF SIMPLE THINGS

The film is a tribute to the resilience of inland areas and the power of dreams. By telling the story of Tatti, a small medieval village in the Metalliferous Hills, Gerber leads us to rediscover the “extraordinary in the ordinary”. Through an intimate visual diary of faces, everyday gestures and breathtaking views, the director transforms a local reality into a universal narrative: that of a community that refuses to be abandoned, choosing instead to embrace a future built on biodynamic farming, solidarity and care for the land.

A MODERN VILLAGE IN AN ANCIENT WORLD

“Tatti is a special place that makes you feel sheltered from the winds and accepted in human relationships,” explains the director. Described by Gerber as “a modern village in an ancient world”, the documentary explores the fundamental relationship between man and nature, showing how collaboration between long-standing residents and newcomers (“the dreamers”) has breathed new life into the houses of what was in danger of becoming a ghost village.
