STORIES OF A CASTLE, WOODS, ART AND MIRACLES... VISITING BURIANO

Confguide Confcommercio Grosseto offers for Sunday, April 2 at 15.30 a visit to the medieval village of Buriano, surmounted by the castle of the Aldobrandeschi Counts of the twelfth century.
Buriano is mentioned from the year 973, was ruled by the Aldobrandeschi, the Lambardi and from 1332 was subdued to Siena. In 1398 the castle became the domain of the Appiano di Pisa, and was then incorporated into the Principality of Piombino; finally it became part of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany only in 1814.
The walk will start from the Church of Santa Maria Assunta to get to the ruins of the castle, and will allow you to admire the magnificent panorama and historical photos that adorn the ancient streets of the country; exclusively you can visit the Museum of Sacred Art.
