Unespected changes

This Saturday at 7 p.m., the “Lucerna Art Gallery” will host the opening of the exhibition “Unexpected Variations,” featuring paintings by Grosseto-based artist Armando Orfeo.
On display is a selection of works that best express his personal, ironic, and surrealist painterly language.
The works draw the viewer in with their rich colors and the dynamic movement of their forms. Like sirens, they seek to ensnare the observer’s gaze, leading them on a journey with no beginning or end, where each painting can become the opening of a narrative, the start of a journey into the personal imagination.
There is no certain or reliable guide; irony is the engine of the imagination, and everyone can let themselves be inspired in their own way, provided they abandon the superstructures of logic and reason and allow themselves to ask new questions about themselves and the meaning of the modernity we live in.
Armando Orfeo made his debut as an artist in the art comics of the 1980s, publishing several stories in the historic magazine *Frigidaire*. He subsequently devoted himself entirely to painting, participating in numerous exhibitions in various Italian and European cities. As a book illustrator, he has published with De Agostini Periodici and, in collaboration with the Milan-based agency Artemidatre, has created special advertising projects for major Italian and international companies.
Born in Marina di Grosseto in 1964.
He lives and works in Grosseto.
