Marina di Grosseto - Yoga Day

On the summer solstice, Sunday 21 June, marks Yoga Day, the International Day of Yoga – an event established by the UN that is held annually around the world under the patronage of the Indian Embassy. This year, there are just twelve events taking place in Italy, and amongst them, alongside Turin, Florence, Rome, Milan and Palermo, is Marina di Grosseto.
From 8 am to 7.30 pm in the entertainment area opposite Forte San Rocco, there will be yoga classes for everyone (adults and children) at various locations, led by yoga teachers from Grosseto and across Tuscany. There will also be workshops, areas dedicated to wellbeing and a holistic market.
In the afternoon, the sessions will focus on yoga in the community, with specific projects carried out in collaboration with the Il Sole Foundation, LILT and La Farfalla.
In the evening, at 7.30 pm, the main session will take place, conducted according to the Indian protocol: a group session held worldwide to mark Yoga Day, in which all the yoga schools that have taken part in the day’s events will participate.

Admission, as well as all scheduled activities, is free.

Yoga Day in Marina di Grosseto is the brainchild of yoga teacher Giada Cossu; it is organised by the Pro Loco of Marina di Grosseto and Principina a Mare under the patronage of the Indian Embassy and in collaboration with the Municipality of Grosseto and the Bhaktivedanta Study Centre in Ponsacco.
