The “Biancane” represent a boraciferous area of great economic importance and particular charm so much so that they inspired Dante Alighieri in the writing of some parts of the Divine Comedy. In addition to observing numerous geometric phenomena such as fumaroles and putizze, we will explore a fascinating geological environment where gaseous emissions have profoundly modified the rock, creating chalks and sulfur deposits.
