In order to get to the Monastery of Siloe, in the hamlet of Poggi del Sasso, set off from Sasso d’Ombrone and walk up along a path set among woods, olive groves and vineyards on the edge of the hills overlooking the Ombrone and Orcia
valley. Frequent cultural and religious events related to ethics, livability and nature, such as the Siloe film festival in July, are held here. It is possible to stop and buy typical local products grown according to the ancient methods. The modern structure is made with eco-compatible materials that fit into the surrounding environment. religious structures in Italy. The monastic community is a public association of the faithful who live under the rules of Saint Benedetto da Norcia.
