The Saturnia Archaeological Museum houses a collection of artifacts collected by the Ciacci family, landowners in the area between the late 18th and early 19th century. Partly recovered on the large estates owned by the family, in part collected as donations from farmers and residents of Saturnia, Sovana and Pitigliano the materials, sold to the state in 1978, were first exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Grosseto and finally returned to Saturnia in 2003. The findings offer a more complete overview of life in the Fiora River valley and of the materials used throughout the Etruscan and Roman times, from the 7th century BC to the Imperial Era.
