In the Burano Lake Reserve we find them all
the natural environments typical of the Maremma. Between
Capalbio, Ansedonia and Chiarone was established
in 1980 the first Oasis managed by the WWF.
The Reserve covers an area of ​​410 hectares
of which 140 occupied by the lake.
It is a coastal brackish lake, approximately
3km and separated from the sea by a double cordon
of sand dunes.
The Buranaccio Tower, a fortification, "watches over" the lake
built at the time of the State of the Garrisons
(mid-16th century).
