The Auser of Monterotondo Marittimo, in collaboration with Clap, under the patronage of the municipality, has organised "A Silvia", a day in memory of the victims of gender violence, in which the Equal Opportunities Commissions of the entire province of Grosseto have been invited to participate.

The initiative is scheduled in Monterotondo Marittimo, Monday 12 August, at 5 p.m., at the Teatro del Ciliegio. Speakers: Giacomo Termine, mayor of Monterotondo Marittimo; Giulia Fanetti, president of the Municipal Commission for Equal Opportunities; Francesca Comparini, Auser Monterotondo Marittimo; Chiara Marchetti, Asl Toscana Sud Est - Uo Codice Rosa; Sabrina Gaglianone, of the Olympia De Gouges association; Giorgia Tacconi and Anna Cavalli, of the 'Le amiche di Mafalda' association; Sara Lavagnini of the Arcobaleno cooperative.

During the meeting, an overview will be given of institutional, social and health interventions on the phenomenon of gender violence and feminicide and the responses that are currently present in the area.

This will be followed by a walk against violence to Largo Caduti del Campo ai Bizzi where there is a red bench and where the totem against gender violence will be unveiled, bearing a sentence by the African-American poet Maya Angelou: 'Every time a woman fights for herself, she fights for all women. Claiming one's rights is important not only for oneself but for all other women.
