Women and medicine in the classical world.
We will discuss this topic on Sunday, 8 March at 5:00 p.m. with Erika Maderna, writer and populariser, who will illustrate how the evolution of medical science and herbal medicine is inextricably linked to the history of women, an ancient vocation
that takes us back to the roots of civilisation.
Erika is the author of several books on the subject. For Aboca Edizioni, she has published: Sacred Aromas, Profane Fragrances. Symbols, Mythologies and Perfume Passions in the Ancient World (2009), Medichesse. The Female Vocation for Healing (2012), The Hands of the Gods. Mythologies and Symbols of Medicinal Plants in Greek Mythology (2016), By the Virtue of Herbs and Enchantments. La medicina delle streghe (By virtue of herbs and enchantments. The medicine of witches) (2018) and Con grazia di tocco e di parola. La medicina delle sante (With grace of touch and word. The medicine of saints) (2019).
