Four events in July to discover, understand and experience the world of opera at first hand. For the first time, the Municipality of Massa Marittima is offering an introductory programme to opera, focusing on the operas to be staged as part of Lirica in Piazza 2026.
Thursday 2 July, at 9.15 pm, in the courtyard of the municipal library, a guided listening session of *La Traviata*: soprano Cinzia Monari will sing and narrate the opera, accompanied on the piano by Cesare Nobile;
On Thursday 9 July at 9.15 pm, the premiere of the musical and theatrical production *La Traviata*, an adaptation of the opera featuring Sara Donzelli as narrator, Stefano Cocco Cantini on piano and saxophone, and stage direction by Giorgio Zorcù.
On Tuesday 21 July at 9.15 pm, a guided listening session for *La Bohème*, and on Thursday 30 July at 9.15 pm, a guided listening session for *Il Trovatore*, led by Cinzia Monari (soprano) and Cesare Nobile on piano.

The fee to take part is 15 euros for a season ticket covering all four evenings, or 7 euros for a single session. Those taking part in the full July programme will also be eligible for a special discount on a season ticket for the three evenings of ‘Lirica in Piazza 2026’, which this year will feature *La Traviata*, *La Bohème* and *Il Trovatore* from 3 to 5 August.
