The exhibition “The Age of Realism: Guttuso, Levi, Treccani and the Artists of the Maremma” is scheduled to run in Grosseto from 15 May to 6 September 2026 at the Le Clarisse Cultural Centre and the Provincial Palace. It traces the cultural climate of the post-war period, when the tragedy at Ribolla in 1954 brought the Maremma to the forefront of national debate. By comparing the great masters of Italian realism with local artists, the exhibition recounts the birth of socially engaged art, capable of interpreting the working conditions, social circumstances and reality of the region.
