From 27 to 29 November 2026, Massa Marittima will host the eighth edition of DocuDonna, the international documentary film festival dedicated to films directed by women. The event will take place at Palazzo dell’Abbondanza and Nuovo Cinema Goldoni.

Three days of screenings, meetings and discussions will celebrate women’s work in cinema, showcasing both emerging and established filmmakers and giving visibility to stories, cultures and perspectives that are often underrepresented in the film industry.

This year, the festival renews its international partnerships with the Dutch IFA festival in Assen and the Nazra Palestine Short Film Festival. Screenings will be presented in their original languages with subtitles and accompanied by the directors’ presence or video messages, offering audiences the opportunity to gain deeper insight into the films and the creative journeys behind them.

Special events will include a presentation by Silvia Lelli, filmmaker and anthropologist, who will introduce new projects dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Cinema & Women Festival in Florence and to Fair Stage – Safe Film, an initiative focusing on working conditions and safety in the film industry.
