Saturday, June 20th, will be a day dedicated to one of the region's deepest identities: its winemaking history, the work of its producers, and the value of a appellation that has been telling Pitigliano's story and looking to the future for sixty years. A conference organized by the Consortium for the White Protection of Pitigliano and Sovana DOC.
At 11:00 a.m., the meeting “60 years of the DOC Bianco di Pitigliano will be held in the premises of the Cantina Cooperativa. A thousand-year-old heritage that looks to the future”, with institutional greetings from Mayor Giovanni Gentili and the president of the Pitigliano Winery Paolo Spicci, interventions by scholars, technicians and experts in the sector and discussions on the role of local viticulture.
Following this, starting at 6:00 pm in Piazza della Fortezza Orsini, an appointment with “Pitigliano DOC. History, faces, and future of a region”: interviews, stories, a roundtable discussion with producers, wine tastings from participating companies, and a musical finale with J&A Acoustic.
An opportunity to recognize the value of an agricultural, productive and cultural tradition that belongs to the community and continues to be an important resource for the territory.
