Tasting History: “Tasting History: ‘Doctors, Health and Epidemics in a 14th-Century City: The Case of Massa Marittima’”


On April 17 at 5:00 PM, at the Municipal Library

Second event of “Tasting History”, a series of three meetings held between March and May, dedicated to the medieval history of the town and enriched by tastings of historical recipes inspired by manuscripts from the 13th to the 16th century.

On this occasion, the theme will be:
“Doctors, Health and Epidemics in a 14th-Century City: The Case of Massa Marittima”
with Dr. Fabio Cavalli

Historical tasting:

onion and saffron pie, from Libro per cuoco – anonymous Venetian, 14th century;
chickpea and almond pie, from Libro de arte coquinaria by Maestro Martino da Como (circa 1460). Prepared by the Terziere di Borgo.
An opportunity to get ready for the second edition of “Alla Tavola dei Priori”, scheduled for June 27.
