Bees have accompanied humanity since the dawn of history, and evidence of honey being a fundamental part of the human diet can be traced back with certainty to the Neolithic period.
On Sunday 15 March at 5pm, we will discuss this topic at the Maremma Archaeological and Art Museum with Giorgio Franchetti, who will present his book 'Beekeeping in the Ancient Mediterranean. Archeologia del rapporto tra uomo e api dalla preistoria alla tarda antichità" (Beekeeping in the Ancient Mediterranean. Archaeology of the relationship between humans and bees from prehistory to late antiquity), published by Edizioni Efesto.
This will be followed by a presentation and honey tasting by Maremma Miele.
The event is free, but booking is required: accoglienzamaam@gmail.com 0564-488752
Best regards and see you soon,
Simone Moretti.
