The itinerary starts from the Cathedral to admire his works, in particular the door of the sanctuary of La Verna, transported here on the occasion of the Jubilee Year, the baptismal font, the Crucifix by Vecchietta up to the confessional as a reminder of the sacrament of forgiveness and the tabernacle of the Eucharist.
We will continue the visit to the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art to rediscover some masterpieces, including the 13th century panel representing the Last Judgment and the famous Madonna of the Cherries of Sassetta.
The itinerary will then continue to’ the former Convent of the Poor Clares and the Convent of San Francesco, with its beautiful Preducci-style Crucifix, an example of the medieval spirituality of the mendicant orders and the frescoes by Nasini dedicated to Saint’ Anthony of Padua.
After a stop at the small church in Via Roma, the first in Italy dedicated to the Miraculous Medal, the journey will end at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the most imposing building in the Diocese commissioned by Bishop Paolo Galeazzi as a perennial reminder of those killed in the Easter Monday bombing of 26 April 1943, as evidenced by the suggestive Crypt of the Pietà.
